Race description

Besseggen is one of Norway's most beautiful hiking destinations. The Besseggen Race follows the regular T-marked route over the ridge. Start at Memurubu and finish at the Gjendeosen parking area. The terrain is rugged, mainly gravel and stone. There will typically also be some snow in parts of the trail. The start and finish are at about 1000 meters above sea level, with the highest point at approximately 1743 meters above sea level. The course is about 14 km long.

  • There are several categories for both women and men, as well as a recreational class without age divisions and timing.
  • Besseggløpet Mini is for children aged 3-10 years, and participants receive a race number, safety pins, and a timing chip.
  • Prizes for the best athletes include cash prizes for the top three in the women's and men's categories.
